Standard First Aid

Our Standard First Aid course takes place over two days, and our scheduling can be customized to fit our client’s needs. This course is 14-16 hours of training in the following modules, includes all modules from the Emergency First Aid certificate, as well as:

  • Head and Spine Injuries
  • Bone, Muscle, and Joint Injuries
  • Sudden Medical Emergencies
  • Environmental Emergencies

This instruction session covers all content required for Standard First Aid certification in Alberta. Course materials and literature is included in the cost.

Advanced First Aid

Two Weeks

Advanced First Aid

Our Standard First Aid course takes place over two weeks, and our scheduling can be customized to fit our client’s needs. This course is 80 hours of training, includes CPR Level HCP, and covers following modules:

  • Part 1 – Preparing to Respond
  • Part 2 – Establishing Priorities of Care
  • Part 3 – Traumatic Injuries
  • Part 4 – Medical Emergencies
  • Part 5 – Special Populations and Situations

This instruction session covers all content required for Advanced First Aid certification in Alberta. Course materials and literature is included in the cost.

CPR/AED (Multi-Level)

CPR/AED (Multi-Level)

Kinetic offers a variety of CPR courses. Each class takes place over one day. Our scheduling can be customized to fit our client’s needs. These courses range from 6-10 hours. We offer the following CPR certificates and recertifications:

Emergency Medical Responder

Our Emergency Medical Responder course provides 120 hours of training over three weeks, but our scheduling can be customized to fit our client’s needs. Pre-requisites for our EMR course:

  • Advanced First Aid
  • SFA Level C CPR with AED/AR
  • 100 Hours of pre-course study

Emergency Medical Responder Refresher

Our Emergency Medical Responder Refresher course provides 35 hours of training over one week and is designed for students wishing to register with the ACP. This refresher course covers:

8 Hours / Flexible

Babysitting

Our Babysitting courses take place over 8 hours. We understanding family schedules and as such are able to customize a schedule that works for you and your young ones. This course is open to anyone 11 years of age or over (with permission of a parent or guardian). Your class will cover the following topics:

  • The Business Side of Babysitting
  • Caring for Babies
  • Caring for Toddlers
  • Caring for Preschoolers
  • Caring for School-aged Children
  • Creating Safer Environments
  • Handling Emergencies and First Aid
  • Caring for the Teenager (if necessary)

Successful completion of the Babysitting Course earns you a Babysitter wallet card and a wall certificate!

Bear Aware

6 Hours / One Day

Bear Aware

Our Bear Aware course offers six hours of instruction over one day and is the prefect fit for anyone facing an increased likelihood of exposure to bears either recreation or industry. This course covers the following topics:

  • Recognition of Potentially Dangerous Situations
  • Bear Behaviour Recognition
  • Bear Types
  • Bear Deterrent Systems (sprays, bear bangers, and noisemakers)
  • Law and Legislation
  • In-Class Collaborative Discussion

Successful completion of the Bear Aware program will result in a wall certificate of completion. This course is open to any individual or group. Class times can be modified to suit your schedule.

Oxygen Administration

6 Hours / One Day

Oxygen Administration

Our Oxygen Administration is open to persons who possess CPR Level HCP. This course provides 6 hours of instruction over one day and covers the following topics:

  • Breathing Devices and Suction
  • Resuscitation Masks
  • Bag Valve Masks (BVM) for Adults, Children, and Babies
  • Supplemental Oxygen
  • Delivery Services
  • Respiratory Emergency Response

Successful completion of this course results in a three-year certificate for Oxygen Administration. Materials, literature, and coffee is provided.

Respiratory Protection

4 Hours / Half Day

Respiratory Protection

Our Respiratory Protection course provides 4 hours of instruction over a half-day. This course is designed to augment your existing H2S training with additional attention to respirator systems. Respiratory Protection covers the following modules:

  • Types of Respirators
  • Proper Use of SCBA and SABA Systems
  • Proper Maintenance and Storage of Respirator Systems
  • When a Respirator System is Required
  • Establishing Organizational Minimum Standards
  • The Anatomy of a SABA and SCBA System

A Certificate of Completion is available upon passing this course. Pre-requisites for this course is a valid H2S certificate.
